This paper bead necklace is handmade from beads of glossy paper - recycled from old calendars and brochures - with glass seed beads interspersed. Varnished to a high-gloss, each paper bead looks like polished stone or wood. Average length is approximately 40 inches long. Often the bone is "batiked" by placing wax on the white bone and dipping the bone a dark brown/black dye, resulting in patterns African mud cloth designs.
